Erroneous Step Count

Apparently I was sleep walking (37,015 steps), or there is an issue with step counts resetting. Is there a way to reset the count back to 0?

It's nice to see a new member around the forums @MeghanG! Hmmm... this is very strange let me say. Is this the first time you experience something like this? Do you remember if yesterday you finished the day around 37K steps or so? If this is the case, it seems that your tracker forgot to reset its information at midnight. When this happens, even if you try to restart your tracker, delete the app, negate the steps, this won't work. Everything will be back to normal the next midnight when your tracker resets the information as it should. Woman Very Happy

On the other hand, if you were driving and your tracker added those steps, it is not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them:

  1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
  2. At the top of the screen click Log > Activity.
  3. Find the data you want to negate by selecting a date range.
  4. In the activity menu, type in "Driving" and enter the duration and start time.
  5. Click Log Activity. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

Hope this helps, keep me posted!

So following these steps fixes the dashboard but it doesn't back the steps out of challenges or badges. How do I fix that?
