Fitbit Charge 2 showing massively incorrect data.

Hi,

Yesterday my Fitbit Charge 2 had a strange issue where it was showing massively high amounts of steps, stairs and miles.

I apparently reached my daily step target at 1 minute past midnight and it continued to climb to over 25000 steps.

I work an office job and rarely break 5000 on a usual work day. Now I have achievements tied to my account that I didn't actually acheive and my weekly stats are completely useless...

Is it possible to manually input my day and replace the data? I can't see a clear way to do this.

I would also like to remove my false achievements if possible.

Thanks in advance,

Gregg

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @GreggFac584, hope you're doing great!  While reading your post I was wondering if you recently updated the firmware version on your Charge 2? Be aware that if you update your tracker at midnight (when the tracker resets its data) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours.

As per your post, your buddy clearly forgot to reset the information at midnight and that's why was showing those steps. When this happens, even if you try to restart your tracker, delete the app, negate the steps, this won't work. Everything will be back to normal the next midnight when your tracker resets the information as it should.

What means that today shouldn't keep seeing those steps but new ones. If you still have this issue, let me know.

Just in case, I'd also recommend checking your Timezone due to the Daylight Savings change, verify if your timezone is set "Automatically or Manually" and avoid this to happen once again.

I'll be around my friend!

Thanks for your reply @MarreFitbit!

I did update recently but not at midnight, for me to have reached the amount of steps it was showing it would have needed to carry over 4/5 days worth of data.

The weird thing is that the graphs showing steps and hours doesn't match up to the number shown so this data has come from nowhere.

I will try to upload photos if need be but the website doesn't seem to allow it from mobile.

At this point in time my tracker appears to be accurate but it still means I have the achievements I didn't earn and also a day of data which completely throws off my actual steps 😞

Yeah, it seems so... but, are you syncing frequently @GreggFac584? I mean, by any chance you stopped syncing your tracker for a couple of days? Maybe your tracker transferred all that data when it had the chance to sync.

I feel you my friend, this happened to me over a year ago.. but it didn't happen again. A few days have passed, is everything ok?

I'm having this same issue. The past two days, the minutes active have been 300+ when I've been at my desk job in an office chair for that entire time.

I would recommend doing the hard reset whilst it's in it's charging clip. I only had this issue once but then my Charge 2 starting suffering really poor sync times so hopefully that doesn't affect you! (I'm now using the Versa which is fantastic)

Wow...this is crazy. I have returned two Versas and am now trying a Charge2. I am not really all that happy with the Charge 2 either.

The Versas were going a massive amount of steps and now my Charge 2 is gaining steps I have not earned! This seems to be a common problem with Fitbit! 😠

my fitbit has played up in the last 4 days showing I am using 3500 calories a day (normally I am never much over 2000 and I am sitting at my desk most of the time). It also stopped giving me details of my sleep pattern and claims I do 80 active minutes at night (I made sure it is in the correct position on my wrist, I sync regularly and none of the caveats mentioned really applies). Tried to reset but it is still playing up.
