Hi!
I just upgraded to the Charge 2 (from a One) and am trying out the different exercise tracking options.
I'm used to tracking a run from the fitbit app on my iphone.
My question is regarding the heart rate tracking. If I track my run from the Charge 2 I see my heart rate data in real time during the run (on the Charge 2 screen) and a summary afterwards in the fitbit app. But if I track a run from the app I don't see any heart rate data - during the run or in the summary afterwards. I assume the Charge 2 is tracking heart rate during the run regardless, so why doesn't it show me that data in the app as part of the exercise summary?
As I run without my glasses, I find it easier to see my run stats in large font on my phone than on the small Charge 2 screen. But does this mean I can't record heart rate data for my run unless I track the run from the Charge 2?
Thanks for any help!
Robyn

I have the Charge 3 and this problem also started with my fitbit last week, worked fine up until then. We have another thread in the Charge 3 forum but no feedback from Fitbit yet.

So I'm having this same issue. I haven't done the software upgrade yet because everyone is having issues. I've never had an issue with my heart rate not showing up when I start an exercise from the app, but earlier I did and noticed that my heart rate never showed up after I ended the exercise. I tried to log it separately, but it's still not showing my heart rate data. Does anyone have any other ideas to log the exercise in order for the app to show my heart rate data?

I did not do the upgrade either, it was automatically done. Check for upgrades on your app and if its the latest then it was automatic.

Mine is a Charge 2 so I'm not sure it works the same as the 3. After my exercise is logged I can go to the exercise app and instead of selecting tracking I select Log Previous, then enter the exercise type, start time, duration & distance and hit Log It. The heart rate data then appears for that session. Hopefully I won't have to do that much longer if the Fitbit wonks can reset the app to the way it worked prior to last weekend..

I also have this issue. Fitbit is not responding to the forum. All runs from my Charge 1 and Charge 2 for the last 3+ years had the heartrate data in the app. Now it is calories nut no HR. There are no options to add HR back in the app. I would like to know if they even intend to fix it!

I'm having the same issue with the heart rate tracking. I also use runkeeper which usually syncs automatically with my Fitbit exercises but this stopped working at the same time as the heartrate issues started. Is anyone else having the same issues with runkeeper?

I started an exercise this morning with the tracker after people were saying to do that to get your heart rate data. But when I do that, I lose my gps data. You still get your pace and mile splits, but until a few days ago, I’ve never had the issue. I’m thinking that the firmware update hasn’t caused this issue because I haven’t done that yet because of all of the issues other people are having after they do that update. If anyone figures out a fix for this that doesn’t involve restarting your phone/ Fitbit please share because restarting doesn’t fix the issue.

Yes same problem here with charge 3. I have HR data for run on 29/07 but then not on 31/07. I need to see what hr is doing during the exercise, you can’t see it properly in the hr section. Come on Fitbit, sort it out

Ditto.... really frustrating, too.. Does FitBit have an operational Quality Assurance department?

This is a recent problem for my Charge 2 as well. Started last Monday, had never happened before. If I track a "walk" with the phone app, the HR data stopped appearing in the summary when I finished. So I tracked a "walk" with the Charge 2, the HR data would appear in the summary, but I wasn't hearing the 1/2 mile pace updates through the phone headphones. Today I tried starting the app with the Charge 2, and with the Phone at the same time, and amazingly I got 2 summaries lol, one with the HR data, the other without, but at least I heard my 1/2 mile pace updates as I was walking. And while both summaries showed the map of where I had walked, in the interest of truth I deleted the activity without the HR data, lol. What a pain in the patoot!

Great minds think alike. That is exactly what I’ve been doing in that I want to hear my splits but know the HR peaks as well afterwards. The only problem is that I use Strava whereby only the Fitbit app started dats transfers over (so no HR). Over time the Strava HR data helps in so many ways but not now; completely dead. It’s a shame and for Fitbit to just sit on this for a week now is disappointing. I’m seriously starting to think about an apple watch because of this. Frankly the GPS and HR are more accurate from what I understand. I bet this would never happen in the apple echo system and if it did I bet it’d be addressed immediately.
