I open this thread so we can talk about our experiences of Charge 3 when it has had contact with water, whether it be swimming, washing our hands, in the rain, etc.
Your performance has changed? Have you noticed any change in the operation of the screen or similar?
In my case, none.
Only once did he get wet by washing my hands, dry it and ready, like new.

I've been showering with it everyday for almost a week now, I don't see any problems. The fitbit charge 3 works fine when it's dry but if you are exercising and get sweaty it might not register swipes. That's the case for most touch screens though so I won't blame fitbit for it. Although I have many issues with charge 3 none of them are physical/hardware issues.

So I just got a charge 3 five days ago. I was thrilled that this model was waterproof because my charge 2 was not. It worked perfectly for my last 2 swims, so I took it swimming again tonight. It died after about 20 min in the water. I went to check the time and the screen would not light up. I charged it last night. Checked the back and sure enough, there is condensation in the heart rate sensor. I called support and they said someone will get back to me in 12-24 hours with my “next steps” So not only do I lose all my data for today, but for at least tomorrow and however long it takes them to ship me a new one. I’m so upset right now. My charge 2 was wonderful. The ONLY reason I upgraded to the charge 3 was to get swim data.

@MandaJ21 -- That's a drag, but guess that's what warrantees are for. I hope the turnaround is quick.
Did you get rid of your CH2? You can keep them both on the same account and switch in situations like this or when you are charging the CH3.

This Charge 3 is not water resistant for swimming. False advertising!

Remember, it says to dry completely when you first set it up. Try to dry in all the areas after swimming. 🙂

I had already given my charge 2 to my daughter. I didn’t want to take it back from her. As for the warranty, Fitbit took nearly a month to get back to me and when they did, they said they still hadn’t come up with a resoloution. I finally ended up returning it to the store and lost the $50 I had paid for the extended warranty since it had been more than a week since I had bought it (Dick’s sporting goods). So this tracker ended up costing me 1 month of lost data, $50 for a warranty I didn’t use and a whole lot of frustration. I finally bought a “Garmin Instinct.” The setup was a little bit of a pain, but it has been great ever since. I have taken it on multiple swims and since it it rated for ATM 10 I know I won’t have to worry about this one leaking.

Ive worn mine in the shower a few times and in a pool for a while (shallow depth), dont seem to have any issues.
I never trust anything electrical with water, I dont care how well they claim it will be ok, especially expensive products. Always dry and clean it as soon as i can. Seeing these pics I dont think ill test its ability but wont change my routine either.

I just noticed water on the inside of my Fitbit. Like where the sensors are there is moisture. Which might explain why my Fitbit has been acting weird the last 36 hours. But I’m confused because I don’t know how the moisture got in it. I only wash my hands when I’m wearing it, I take it off to shower or bathe. I’m currently at work and have take the band off of my Fitbit and have the tracker piece in front of a fan.

I wish I had found this thread before I bought my Charge 3, I would not have bought it.
I took mine for a swim for the first time, after 15 mins the vibration started going crazy in my risk for no reason.
battery went dead, dried it out for 3days before recharging it.
Red light permanently stays on, heart rate monitor broken.
Finally Replaced under support call. Got my new one and too scared to use it in the pool.
NOT swim resistant in my experience.
FitBit you need to fix this as it’s obviously a product issue.

Hey, this just happened to my Fitbit charge 3. What did you do to get the water out?

Thankfully Fitbit replaced my Charge 3. I always took my Fitbit off to shower&bathe, I would also dry my Fitbit if it got any water on it from washing my my hands. Contact the Fitbit help desk.

I did not get the water out of the Charge 3. It was dead, so I got a new one under warranty.
Since I got the replacement i had the new Charge 3 in the pool three times and no water issues - however this time i made sure i did not touch the button in the pool. I think this was the issue for the first one.
For the record my wife has the Versa which has had no water issues in the pool. My daughter has the kids version (the ACE) which is not even water resistant and it had no issues after a week of use in the pool.

I kept my fitbit out of water for several months, took it off to shower. On my 2nd time ever taking it in water it stopped working and I could see water in the monitor. Sounds like since I have had it for a few months they want to blame normal wear and tear and not cover it. Definitely my last fitbit purchase.

I'm very disappointed at this point, because I've lost my third charge 3 in less than a year.
1 was in salt water, probably my bad, but the other 2 where while swimming on fresh water.
I love the app and the product itself, because it had made me become very disciplined with my workout and check the training zones, but I'm reluctant to get another charge 3 at this point. Is there any other stronger fitbit product I can switch to?

I don't swim with minor take a shower I might have it on when I wash the dishes. The charge 3 is supposed to be water resistant up to 50m. I got caught in a heavy rain yesterday but I had an umbrella in the water that I got on my Fitbit charge 3 was not as great as it would have been if I had gone swimming. It crapped out on me. This is my second one, the first one only lasted a month. What issues are you having with your Fitbit charge 3 I be curious to know?
