Factory Reset Directions Step 2

1. Attach the charging cable to your tracker and plug the other end into a USB port.
2. Press and hold the button for approximately two seconds and without letting go of the button:
   1. Remove the charging cable from your tracker.
   2. Wait about seven to nine more seconds after removing the charging cable.
3. Let go of the button and hold it down again.

So how do you keep the button pressed while releasing the charging cable? Every time I try to release without letting go it doesn’t work and I am scrolling through the device.

Can I check what fitbit you have - the help file you quote is for a factory reset of the Charge and Charge HR. The Charge 2 doesn't have a factory reset option.

Are you sure you need to factory reset - it's a pretty drastic step. What problem are you having?
