As you say, some fitbit models do have a factory reset option but the Charge 2 doesn't.

However, if you are passing on the fitbit to someone else then it's not needed. When they add the Charge 2 to their account it deletes anything left on it.

There isn't a factory reset option for the Charge 2. Is there a particular reason why you want to do one?

Can this really not be done? I've managed to do this with my previous trackers. Like the person above, I would also like to try & do a full reset so I can give my old fitbit to my father in law. Thank you

I do not dispute that it doesn't work. I find this well - lame - on the part of fitbit.

There is clearly data from the previous owner (maybe nothing personal - but that's not the point)

There should be a physical way to force a factory reset.

I have found two different videos

tried them both step by step

my fitbit charge 2 simply does not respond the way either show.

Oh well. Lazy coders, product developers and marketing.

this is what we deal with now...

I want to delete all my personal information from my charge HR2 so I can give it to someone else to use

I have been trying for over a month to factory reset my charge 2 so I can give to a family member.  I have tried contacting Fitbit to no avail.  I cannot factory reset and I also cannot sync to any other account.  I have tried to set it up on my family members new account as well as my mother's Fitbit account - it will not set up.  However, it sets up easily on mine.  Why can't I transfer this device?

Probably because they would rather sell a new one than engineering
something with a basic hardware reset function.

Hi @ShellT6 and welcome to the Community!

There is no factory reset option for the Charge 2 but that shouldn't be a problem as it gets cleared of data when added to another account.

I would go into your phone's bluetooth settings and delete any connection to the Charge 2 - it could be that if your phone was still connected then it was blocking connection to your family member's phone.

Exactly.

Yes, because the screen recently started constantly scrolling, turned notifications o all by itself and there for killed the battery in a day instead of 5.ive tried the soft reset several times. I don't care if I lose data on the device itself as long as the data on the acct stays in tact.
