WHY would anyone really spend time to hack my fit bit. Thank you fit bit for sending me a notice that i needed to change my password but my HR2 has very little data. I have a Versa2 to upgrade to after christmas but ... any idea why someone would think it important enough to hack a fit bit? at work they said they are profiling me or trying to get a free replacement. Neither of those seem to be of a financial benefit to those confused souls of the hacking world.

Hi @mrs63ne I've never understood why someone would want to hack into an account, but it seems there are plenty of people who seem to do it. You can learn more about it in these articles - click to view. It's a good idea to change passwords. It's true that people used to get free replacements on these devices, but I think it's harder to do that now. Just be sure to use a unique password and not one you use elsewhere. So you got the new Versa 2? Awesome. We're here if you need any help getting it set up. Keep on stepping!

Yes @mrs63ne several people have contacted help about their tracker only to find out that Fitbit replaced their tracker a month ago. People are hacking Fitbit accounts to get a free tracker oh I mean replacement for what they are not in titled to.

I did get a versa 2 but sadly —- I think it went out in the Christmas wrapping trash — or I hid it from myself really good- my two day search and I give up ! Sadness

Sorry about that where you able to turn the tracker on? If so and on iOS go to https://findmyfitbit.com/
On android go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bickster.fitbitbandfinder
The android version is free to see if the the Fitbit can be found. Then a couple of dollars to look for it.
If you get in the ball park you may be able to send a test notification and listen for the buzz.
