I've been an avid fan of my FitBit Charge 2 since getting it when it first came out, but for the last 2 months it's developed a very strange symptom.
The display goes dark, and refuses to show me any information. I have it paired with my iPhone, and in the app, I see that the battery is fully charged (indeed, I charged it overnight with a wall-plug, last night, before writing this post).
I know that the device is still functioning, because if I press and hold the button - it buzzes indicating that call alerts will be shown (or not shown, can't tell which way the toggle is set).
Troubleshooting steps:
* fully charged it
* upgraded to latest firmware (verified in app) as being 22.58.0
* tried setting ON the 'quickView' (which I normally turn off, as it startles me in the middle of the night)
* tried switching clock faces, just to force some sort of update
Now - the weird thing is that after giving up hope that leaving my beloved fitbit in the bathroom cupboard for 3 weeks, I pulled it out, gave it a full charge, put it on (reconciling myself to just getting the data via the app), and the screen lit upt!
So I got a day and half of usage out of it -- before it went dark again. Then 30 minutes later, it decided to start showing me information on the screen again.
Does this sound like a faulty internal connection, or is this a symptom that others have encountered? I've trolled the forums and a few of the threads with 'SOLVED!' have empty answers that were marked as the solutions, which bewildered me.
(I also recall doing the hard / factory reset, of pressing the button while the unit is in the charging block for 8-10 seconds - but that was admittedly weeks ago when I first had the issue, haven't tried that again this time around)
Thanks for reading my sad little tale and meandering prose. ROFL.
I have had the same issue, yet again, with my Charge 2. Done all the resets recommended. It buzzes when button is held etc. This is now the 2nd unit in 1 year to have done this. And the 3rd unit overall in less then 3 years. They now tell me that because the warranty is out they can’t help me. Apparently the warranty ONLY applies from the original purchase date. So now I have a cliiection of electronic junk
Best AnswerThat's to bad. I really like my chsrge2. In November it'll be 3 years I've had mine. Im not going to buy it again. It cost to much. I didn't get 3 years out of it. I will have someone look at it before I give up on it.

Best AnswerOne corner of my Charge 2 got darker making it impossible to see all of the date and time. Tried to change clock face to overcome but other things are missed.
