FitBit Charge 3 won't sync, wrong time

I've had my Charge 3 for around 2 1/2 years, I believe. At first it ran fine, but the past 6 months have been a pain. It doesn't sync with my phone app nor my computer. I follow the instructions, remove it from one or the other, disconnect from the phone, remove from the apps; restart computer / phone, reload the app / program, reset the Charge 3. For a little some of the various fixes suggested would work, mainly restarting my phone or disconnecting from the computer, and letting it find the charge 3 again. But for about a week now NONE of these even work. I see again and again posts here with similar problems, perhaps a bit different, but basically syncing problems. Yet I don't see a true fix posted, and "Here's the upgrade that gets rid of this bug", that exists for other devices / software. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops every other day, or now everyday, just to make this work. I shouldn't have to sit and wait for a sync to occur for 5 minutes. Now the time is wrong. Now this devise is worthless, not even a watch anymore. Are you planning on fixing the Charge 3 so that syncing isn't so dang hard? So that the device works like it used to work?

I have these problems too and have spoken to customer support three times I am told there was an error in the last update of the ap and that they are trying to fix it.  They have no timescale for this.  Utterly disgusted at the attitude of Fitbit  massive numbers of people with expensive items that simply don’t work any more and they don’t seem at all concerned.

Mine has been acting up as well.  I took my 1.5 mile walk this morning and it logged OVER 7,000 steps...I wish!  No, this is NOT working at all.  It takes forever to sync and I'm tired of uninstalling it from my phone and reinstalling it every time I want the thing to sync with the phone.  I use this to track activity on Weight Watchers and it's screwing that up as well.  I know it wasn't the most expensive tracker they make but it should work more than a couple of months.

I’ve had this problem for over a week & quit wearing since time wrong.  I bookmarked this forum to keep track of any response.  As soon as I did, I got a request to pair my Fitbit.  I haven’t been able to pair or sync for over a week.  Suddenly it paired, corrected time but still says it won’t sync.

Thanks for your comments. Mine was the same and then after multiple attempts at deleting and reinstalling the app, turning Bluetooth on and off, soft and hard rebooting of my phone, checking all software and firmware updates, and restarting the Charge 3 I suddenly got a request to pair and the time corrected. It synced for steps and sleep but not other exercise I did over the weekend. I am seriously thinking of giving up on it next time it goes wrong. It’s gone from being fun and motivating to really irritating!!! take care

I feel your pain!! I was really happy with my charge 2 for a couple of years, no problems. I changed to a charge three last autumn and lost it in January. I loved it so much I replaced it but am now despairing at the amount of time I spend trying to sync it. Really thinking about not bothering!!

It’s so frustrating.  I’ve had my watch for 1 yr and 4 months and just spoke to someone from Fitbit who didn’t even acknowledge that there was a problem with the update.  Simply offered me a discount for a new one.  I’m so disgusted.

I had exactly the same issue. I finally got it to sync and update on Saturday and it corrected the time issue but again yesterday and today it will not sync and I am just fed up uninstalling/installing etc

It's beyond ridiculous. I have been rather sedentary for the last 2 hours
as I have been in my office doing paperwork. The "steps" count has
literally changed 4 times. Trust me, I didn't go anywhere. It just
irritates me that I paid a lot for this (I have my own small business and
not a lot of money) and I can't rely on this thing. I am tired of jumping
through hoops to make it work. And when I think it is working....is it
really?

I have just spoken to a very bored sounding woman who has gone through all
the restart processes including wiping the info from my charge 3 all of
which failed and they have now agreed to replace it. The bizarre thing is
that I have the last one that they replaced for me which had different
issues and I just tried to connect that and it connected first time!!

It’s clearly quite common! I wonder if it’s specifically Charge 3s or other models too?

I had one which worked perfectly for 5 months then had to replace it as I lost it in the rush hour on the tube in London! It’s the new one that’s so rubbish. I thought maybe it was a dud one off but it doesn’t seem so reading these comments! 😔 take care

My iPhone and iPad updated last week. Ever since that time, my Charge 2 won’t sync. I deleted the Fitbit from my app and added it back on. The app finds the Fitbit but won’t connect.
