Fitbit Charge 3 just died

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my Charge 3 since October 2018 and its been working fine.. I’ve been very happy with it.

Suddenly last night it just died.  I put it on charge thinking the battery must have ran out (though was unusual as I knew it wasn’t due for a charge).

When I plugged it in to charge the smiley face came up and said it was charging (1%)... I have left it overnight and when I removed it from the charger.. it seemed ok and had a 100% battery but then soon died and now back showing charging at 1% or just a white line when I attach it to the charger.

Anyone else had this problem?  Can I get a replacement?

Hi @Meizilla Try restartingnit several times. If that doesnt fix it, try a long restart, but if that doesnt work either then please come back here for further help

Restart your tracker

CHARGE 3 LONG RESTART
Plug the device into the charging cable. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds. Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen. Remove the device from the charging cable. Plug the device into the charging cable again. The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

Thanks Nelly

That seemed to have sorted the battery issue - I synced after long reset while in the charger.

I’m keeping an eye on it but it seems to be behaving strangely.  The side button is intermittently unresponsive and the screen gets stuck and vibrates on the screen wake/ notification options screen randomly on its own.

Any other ideas?  I can try doing resetting and resyncing?

Tried a few resets.. seemed to be ok.. I’ve gone out about my daily business and it’s now just randomly vibrating and flicking between all the displays randomly and the side button is unresponsive.... it’s quite uncomfortable

Is there anything else I can try?

My fitbit charge 3 is doing exactly the same as Meizilla is saying hers is doing.  I have charged it on 3 different sites, cleaned points, long charges and re-booted as told.  A white line appears and it keeps strongly vibrating with notifications awake.  Smiley face shows 100% charged but then dies with no battery showing.  What can be done pls?

I am having the same issues as well - I have tried the long reboot, still not working. Turned back in and it is constantly vibrating and flickering and now showing the wrong date and time. It quickly dies as soon as I take off the charger.

You need to contact support at Fitbit. They ended up sending me a new watch (no bands or chargers). New one working great. Good luck

Update to my original thread 14 months later - the replacement pebble Fitbit sent me last year has just died... !  Tried the usual resets.. it was going nuts yesterday - I put it on charge and this morning blank screen before heating up and going completely dead...Seems the tech doesn't seem to ever make it to 18 months.. this has happened to all my Fitbits!  Might be time to switch to something else if wont replace it again. 😞

Raising a request with Fitbit support now!
