Fitbit Charge 3 not syncing to messages

Hi

I bought the Charge 3 two days ago, however I can only get some notifications on it.  I can receive notification for phone calls but not for messages although I have selected to receive notifications.  Also it will not show what the weather is and advises 'no weather data, please try syncing with your phone'!

Very frustrating as I have synced it with my phone but only selective apps are working.

Any advice please and thank you.

@Dashmum03, welcome to the community. Syncing along is not enough - you have to make sure all the appropriate settings have been enabled in Fitbit app and phone.

Fitbit app:

In Fitbit app tap on Charge 3 icon, All-Day Sync should be ON if you want to get notifications as they arrive, Always Connected and Keep Alive Widgets On (if it doesn't work, can try to turn Keep-Alive widget off and see if it makes a difference). Tap on Notifications and make sure that the app you're using for texting is selected for push notifications.

Phone (relevant for Android OS - if you have IOS, you might have similar options, but not exactly the same):

On your phone, go to Messages, in the top right corner tap on 3 dots => Settings => More Settings - make sure Push messages set to ON and ensure Never is not selected (I have Prompt Load push service enabled and it works very well)

Now you'll need to go back to the same screen where you originally selected More Settings, but now tap on Notifications. On the very bottom tap on More settings in app => Preview Messages should be set to ON.

Make sure that Fitbit app has all the permissions granted on your phone (Settings=> Notifications=> All apps => Find Fitbit, tap on it and ensure all the permissions are granted.

Weather app - do you have location selected or set to automatic in Fitbit app settings? Do you have location enabled on your phone?

Please, let us know how it goes!

I have had my charge 3 for around a year now and its worked perfectly until about a month ago and I'm having this same issue. I get all the notifications but text. I've followed these steps and numerous other"fixes" to no avail. I'm running out of places to look it seems like to get mine to work. Is there an issue syncing to android's "messages" app ppssibly?
