Fitbit Charge 3 stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my Fitbit less than a year ago, have always taken very good care of it. Never dropped or taken in any water.

Yesterday the screen was blank and wouldn’t turn on, even on the charger. I looked up online and followed the reset instructions. Everything seemed to be fine at first, then it started vibrating like crazy and switching between screens, then the display became glitchy, and it said the battery was dead (this was on a full charge). I tried recharging it again to no avail. Can anyone please help or let me know if there’s a warranty? Thank you

Mine just started doing this exact thing out of nowhere last night, like it was possessed or something!! Now it won't work, even after being on the charger all night!

What are the odds this just happened to both of us yesterday?! I really hope Fitbit fixes the issue soon, because I wear my Fitbit daily, so this really sucks not having it work!

Just posted something similar! My screen has been frozen since yesterday. Tried to reset it today. Vibrated for almost a minute and screen is black! Also felt warm so I took the temp of it and it was 106.7°!!

I haven't noticed mine feeling hot. I definitely had the crazy vibrating and the screen going crazy, and now NOTHING!

Charge 3 said it needed to be recharged after one day but it could not recharge yesterday, 7-11-20.  It is dim and frozen on the charger.  It gets very hot.  Bought it from Fitbit in May of last year.  Are they known for a 1 year battery life?

Has anyone been able to get a hold of anyone from Fitbit? I thought it came with a 1-year warranty and I’m so frustrated with not having one 🥺😞

I’m sorry to hear that! Has anyone from Fitbit helped you?

I am having similar issues as well. I've had mine for a little over a year, but this is such an odd problem. My battery was low, so I went to charge it. Then, I noticed that I was unable to get a reaction out of the side button even while charging. So, I left it alone and finished working. When I took it off the charger it started going berserk. Vibrating, screen flashing, and the smiley face kept showing up. Even though it said it was at 95% yesterday, I woke up today and it said it was 4%. The crazy vibrating also happened randomly last night while going to bed.

I would still give them a call! They told me how to reset it to try first, plugging it in and holing it for 8 seconds first. And then plugging it in and holding the side button for 18 seconds. Mine still did nothing so they went through replacing it, mine was only a couple months old, but I think if you argued, they would at least give you the 50% off an item....just ask them if they only have trust in their product to last a year? 🤷🏼‍:female_sign: I wouldn't think they would say yes to that! Esp if it is just over a year and not 3+

I will. I did look around a few platforms and saw some comments under their Instagram page that there is something going on with iOS devices and Fitbit. I hope that's all it is.

I have had the same problem for over a week. I have done the short and long resets advised in other posts.  Sometimes I see the smiley face and other times nothing happens apart from the vibration. Sometimes I get the clock to display but it is only on half of the screen and is illegible. This soon stops and I am back to no display.

I also have problems with the fitbit syncing to my phone as its not a fully compatible phone. Until 2 days ago they have synchronised at night so I knew that the fitbit was still registering my steps, etc. Now I have no idea if it's working or not.

I got the fitbit for Christmas so am disappointed that it's of no use after only 6 months.

I had an issue with mine about 3 months after I purchased it. It turned out that the pins on the Charge3 were not connecting properly with the charging cable. It is a known problem and they replaced it under warranty. I don't know if this is what is going on with yours but it is worth a shot.

My Fitbit stopped working as well. I have to hit the left side to get the screen to turn on. It is not tracking anything at all. I have rebooted it as well as restarted being plugged in and there is no change at all.

There is no green light going. It only vibrates when I touch the left side. There is no vibration when I restart.

What is wrong with my Fitbit.

Good news is I was able to call and get a new one sent to me!! If this has happened to you and your Fitbit is less than a year old, you should be able to get a replacement sent without any issue! If it’s more than a year old, I would still call and see what they offer you!

Good luck to all! I hope all of your issues are solved 😊
