I have a charge hr and it doesn't seem to sync everyday. I think I need to run the app inorder to get it to sync.
It also seems to store only 1 day of data, so if I forget to run the app, then my data is lost for the day.

It stores up to 7 days worth of data (and a further 23 days of totals only) so as long as you sync once a week at least you should be fine.
