Fitbit Charge HR won't sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, my fitbit charge HR hasn't been used in a while, I've gone and fully charged it so it has full power but it won't sync.

I have an Android phone.

*I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling app.

*I've turned bluetooth on and off

*I've turned phone on and off

It gets to the part where I enter the code and just won't leave to page no matter how long I wait for it to connect.

Sometimes I'll also get a message saying its unable to connect.

To make sure no other devices nearby - there isn't

Make sure it's charged - it is, it has full power .

It syncs to my son's fitbit totally fine so not sure why it's not syncing to this.

Hoping someone can help..thanks

Hello, thank you for your reply. I have an Oppo reno z, so yes it is compatible I also have the latest software.

Ive deleted and reinstalled app again and still not working.

The other fitbit that works and syncs with no issue is not nearby, but I also disconnected it from my account and still not working.

Nothing else is paired to my bluetooth and location services are on and fit bit has permission to run in the background.

No other device is used to sync so that is not the issue either.

My phone is the only thing I have to sync the fitbit

here is something a moderator posted about phones being compatible:

"Please note that your phone or tablet is not on our list of compatible devices. We confirmed that the devices on this list are fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.

We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone or tablet meets the minimum operating system requirements.

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, we provide assistance and troubleshooting steps. Because your phone or tablet is not fully compatible with Fitbit devices, we can't guarantee syncing and other Fitbit features. "

Sorry, I'm confused. You're saying my device isn't compatible?

I have an oppo reno z.

Why it is it on the list of compatible devices if it isn't ??

Hi @NicoleH88  some phones just don't like to play well with Fitbit. I have a Samsung S8 and it does work. While you're doing this, be sure any other bluetoooth devices are well out of range or turned off. Don't have your phone running anything in the background too. Make sure you have the latest app and restart your phone and bluetooth, log into the app and try again. Something is not quite connecting. You using mobile data or wifi?

There is no apps in background.

No other bluetooth devices near by.

My son's fitbit syncs to both with non-issue. Just for some reason this won't sync.

Was using WiFi on oppo and mobile data on samsung

Both phones say they've found my device but it just won't connect

Could the issue be with the fitbit itself?

You try restarting the device itself? That often helps with glitches.

I have the exact same problem. I have a Charge HR. Has not been used for years. Just sitting on a table. Tried troubleshooting numerous times. Contacted support numerous times. Bluetooth works fine because it connects and gives me a code. I suspect that firmware got behind in updates and now requires to connect to update. I have tried to connect on two S8, windows PC and android tablet.

Will never buy another fitbit product again if the company does not have the ability to at least tell me why its not connecting. Would be easy enough to have logs in the application to indicate the failure. Especially since the device is connecting, but cannot complete the setup sequence. Obviously not a hardware problem, something in firmware not working or not compatible with latest versions of bluetooth.

Support was useless on helping with this issue.
