I have had my Fitbit Charge 4 for about 9 months and have never gotten it to accurately measure a run. In consistently go on a 4 mile run and the Fitbit measures it as anywhere from 3.2 - 3.8 miles. I take my phone with me and use the Runkeeper app, I always get an accurate 4 mile reading. I have tried every different GPS setting on the device and it doesn't make a difference. I've put it in dynamic mode, Phone GPS, and Built-in GPS and still have the same problem. Not sure if I got a lemon or this is a common problem, but is there anything else I can try?

I have a similar problem. I ran the
inverness half marathon and my Fitbit says I ran 14.42 miles. Not really much point in using it as so inaccurate…. Happy to hear of any fixes
that would help.

I have the same problem, big time. The variability drives me crazy. I'm training for a local 10 mi running race, and I go out every day, to run 3, 5, even 10 miles, using the iPhone Fitbit Charge 4 tracking app under "Exercise" ("run"). I know the exact mileage I do each day because the local running trail--originally a railroad line--has accurate mileage markers that I compare to. Also mapping the route on my computer with Google confirms the accuracy of those. But the FitBit Charge 4 app varies, differently each day--sometimes it's off by 1/10 of a mile, sometimes by 3 or even 5/10 miles. And of course, the longer I run, the greater the gap between the true and reported mileage (I recently ran 10 miles that was recorded as almost 11 miles).
This is really disappointing. Does anybody have any fixes to suggest? and if FitBit staff are reading this, it would be great to hear a corporate reply.
Thanks!
