Fitbit customer service is awful. Watch broke a couple months out warranty. No option for repair that I'd be willing to pay. 1 year 3 months and the charge 4 is trash. Thanks

Mine is only 16 months old and not working.  I have contacted customer service five times and they keep telling me somebody from the warranty department will be contacting me and still haven’t heard anything

My charge 4 started deteriorating after a year.  Just under 2 years and is now completely useless as a) the screen regularly dims - so is pretty much impossible to use outdoors as can’t even see to start/stop an exercise option, never mind see what is happening during running.  Support just said that dimming screens are not a fault. Fyi, I switched to the charge 4 as the screen on my old model had fEd - and initially, the charge 4 was wonderful - even persuaded 3 friends to buy one.  And b) whole watch is periodically unresponsive - to which support said I should call when that happens - so, at 6am when I am out for a run, I should stop, wait in the queue for 10 minutes, then have an unproductive discussion with support instead? Who will no doubt tell me plug it in to charge - which is a solution when I am home - so then problem solved!  However, not a practical solution when I am out - and shouldn’t happen.  However, no feedback / ideas /suggestions as to why it happens or how to stop it happening
gotta love support!

yeah, customer support can't do much to help - they're kind, but they usually suggest same old solutions that people already try before they contact them. i wish my charge had lasted two years, but it gave up and diet at around 14 months....the reality is that it's simply not a good product and that fitbit wants you to keep buying new models while holding you hostage through keeping your data that some people get emotionally attached to. after my fitbit died i spoke to multiple people who have them and it's always the same response - "i don't want to lose my data, so i bought the new model"...so i wouldn't worry about it too much and i'd find an acceptable alternative tracker to replace it with. these fitbit problems happen a bit too much to be a coincidence...

@dracocaelestis @Fittobit123 , Nice to see you here. Thank you for your feedback.

If the steps recommended by Support do not help, please contact them again and let them know so that they can have a closer look at the case.

@dracocaelestis , should a Fitbit device get damaged or not work properly, do not worry about the whole data, the only data that might be missing is the one that was not synced with your Fitbit account.

All data saved after syncing your Fitbit with the app, remains saved on your account.

See you around.

Interestingly, I have found, after switching to a garmin device, that data can be exported from Fitbit and imported to a new app.  Not in full

detail, but enough to keep some history.  No need to stick with a device designed to fail in order to force repurchase
