Fitbit reduces steps after sync

I’ve done over 10,000 steps per day for 23 months straight without missing a day. The battery was low yesterday so I checked my step count and it showed 10,060 steps. So I put it on the charger and when I synced early this morning, it reduced the steps for yesterday to 9,882. I am so disappointed that such a long streak has been broken because of a sync issue that I feel like throwing my charge 4 in the bin and getting an Apple Watch. I’ve tried resetting it. No change. I removed the device and set it up again. No change. I removed mobile track and set it up again. No change. I had a similar issue with a charge 3 and couldn’t resolve it through Fitbit support. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi there @Gee-Dub, it's good to have you in the Community.

Thank you for the information and the troubleshooting steps performed. I'd recommend you check these articles, How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? and How accurate are Fitbit devices?.

Hope this helps.
