Fitbit tracks sleep while NOT wearing it!

I got my Charge 2 for Christmas and the sleep tracking function worked like a charm for the first few weeks. I was getting the graph that shows deep sleep, REM sleep etc. But now it's gone crazy - whenever I take off the tracker, it starts tracking that as sleep. I get simplified sleep details with ridiculous times e.g. it thinks I slept 18 hours!

I would use the 'start sleep now' option, but that also causes simplified details. Isn't there a way to set it so that it only tracks sleep between the hours you set?

Hey @Tom41, welcome to the Community! Oh! Sounds weird that your Charge 2 is tracking sleep when you take it off. Let me suggest you something, try to restart your Charge 2 by following the instructions in this post. Wear it for a few night and let me know how it goes. 😉

I'll be around!

I factory reset the tracker by deleting it from the app and re-adding it. Then I turned heart rate monitor to 'auto' and tried it; it seems to have tracked the sleep properly for last night. No more 20-hour sleeps or anything!

Just as a general point of advice, if you have the heart rate monitor set to Auto, make sure you do NOT place the tracker face-up on a reflective surface (such as a laptop or glass shelf). Otherwise it may reflect the light and cause the tracker to think you're still wearing it

Hi.  My Charge tracks my sleep fine but when I take it off to shower it still thinks I'm sleeping.  Thoughts?
