Fitbit won't pair with my phone's bluetooth?

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with their Charge 2 pairing and connecting to their phone's Bluetooth. My other devices that have Bluetooth connect to my phone, so I don't believe it is my phone however whenever I try to connect and pair my charge 2 with my phone, it says it cannot communicate with said device. I have tried shutting the app off, rebooting it, restarting the Bluetooth connection on both my phone and my fitbit, and still nothing.

Any suggestions? I tried connecting with the live chat, but that also is not working today.

Hi @Cindarella89. cheat do you mean by it won't pair with the Charge 2?

What is it that is not happening? We do not need the Charge 2 to be paired for the Charge 2 to sync.

Is the Charge 2 still connected to your Fitbit account?

There should only be two things to do to fix this. On your phones settings, click on Bluetooth and remove the Fitbit. Then go to the Fitbit app (which should be on your phone, I know someone who was trying to do this from an iPad which wouldn’t work) you need to pull down from the top to find the name of your device and click on it to bring up the settings. Click on notifications, that should then bring up a prompt to pair.

As @Nelehk. mentioned @Cindarella89 if you are trying to pair the tracker through your phones Bluetooth. It will fail, we want to use the Fitbit app to setup the tracker.

Hi,
Just says it couldn't pair. I have a charge 2 and it worked perfectly until about 2 months ago. My phone stopped getting notifications. I checked my software. Not that. Checked the charge 2 software via internet. Not that.
I cannot get it connected to my phone. I upgraded about 2 weeks ago and also same story with new phone. Have a A80 samsung.
Uninstalled app and install again. Took my account off and not helping.
So I am really disappointed.
I want to send it in but with this I cannot find anybody to assist.

@Cindarella89 I'm still trying to figure out if you are using the phones Bluetooth menu to pair the Charge 2 or the Fitbit app to setup your Charge 2?

Hello @DAIZE I'm having the same problem. The error message I receive is Couldn't pair with Charge 2. Check your Charge 2 settings and try again. I even tried deleting it from my account profile under the fitbit app and tried to add it again from scratch, but it asks me in the app is my Charge 2 powered on. Since it is powered on I have to click try again over and over and I get nowhere. Even though my watch is charged up I'm going to try it again while its connected to its usb cord and see if pairing it up again makes a difference.

@smurfett30 a user does not pair their tracker to the phone, they setup the tracker to their Fitbit account. Then after the tracker is connected to the account, the Fitbit app will pair the tracker.

Since you where having problems communicating with the tracker, you will have problems comunicating to setup the tracker.

Lets make sure the app is up to date.

Restart, better to shutdown phone.

Restart the tracker

You might need to log out / in or delete the Fitbit app and install fresh.

It also would be helpful to know the type of phone.

For setup problems  .
