not sure if I am in the right area for this question.....when you look at your fitbit and go to community you seee your friends and your steps... for example I'm at lets say 106,742 and they are at 98,010 then all of a sudden the numbers change and drop drastically....so my question is how are these steps calculated...why is it one second the numbers are high and they go down?

The number is the total steps taken so far today plus the steps for the previous 6 days. So, once you have at least a week of data the count will go down at midnight as the oldest day's steps drop off the count.
