Friends list

I’d like to invite certain friends to a challenge but although we are definitely friends their names are not appearing on my friends list

Hello @Debth6 when asking about an app question on the hardware board, please include the type of phone. 

When you say that you are friends, are you saying that they are on your list of friends.

If I click on their fitbit ID we are friends but they are not appearing on my list of friends. My phone is iPhone se it’s fully updated I have charge 2

Have you confirmed with your friend that they see you on their friends list? 

Where do you get their ID to click on? 

Are you able to see a list of their friends? 

My understanding now is not that you can't add friends to a challange but that you can't see your friends in your list of friends. 

Do they show as friends on the page i linked to above.

i can’t add them as they are not in my friends list even though I can clearly see they are my friends. I’ve checked their list and I am on it and I’ve checked my friends list via fitbit.com and they are defo on it. But when I’m doing a challenge and go on options to invite friends their names do not appear as a choice to make. This is several people too not just one individual

Have you tried logging out of your app and back in?

@Debth6 a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for the information provided. 

Could you confirm if this happens when you are on mobile Data or Wifi?

If you are using mobile Data but have access to a Wifi, please restart your cell phone (off/on), turn the mobile Data off and connect the phone to the Wifi. Start the Fitbit app, and start a challenge. 

Do you receive any error message? If so, please let me know it. 

What do you see on the friend's list? 

Do you know approx. how many friends have you on  your list? No need to count them, just tell me an approx. number. 

Do you have access to another mobile device, where you can install the Fitbit app? If so could you please install it and log in, and check if from there you can invite your friends to a challenge?

This happens on both mobile data and WiFi. As you can see from the photo Lexi is my friend no. 227 I’ve about 260 friends. However you can also see she doesn’t appear next to the other lexy I’m friends with on the list of friends that comes up when trying to add to a challenge. You can clearly see that we are friends too in the third section of the photo. This isn’t just for lexy either this is the third occasion this has happened. When my son gets here I will try the app on his phone see if it makes a difference

Hi @Debth6 , thank you for your reply, further information and the picture attached. 

I'll be awaiting your report on how it goes with your son's phone. If on it you still having the same situation, please le me know his phone's model, and it's operating system. 

Also if your son's has a Fitbit account could you please ask him to try to invite some friends to a challenge. If he has the same issue as you please let me know how many friend he has on his list. 

This will help us identify if the situation is caused by the app, your phone or your account. 

If you or/and your son do not find any situation on his phone, we can confirm that this is an app situation, and we can move on from this.
