Hi
I've searched the archives and I've done all the troubleshooting that the archives offer and I still cannot get this to work.
I have an iphone 6s and Charge 2. The phone's bluetooth says it is connected to my Charge 2. I have it "always" tracking my location. I turn on "bike" on my charge 2 and the charge 2 says to check phone. But all looks good.
The fitbit does track my effort/heart rate but does not map my ride.
WHYYYYYY???
It is really frustrating to me. Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem it tracks distance / heart rate etc but the map is just a blue screen. It used to work ok and is a new problem, trouble shooting doesn’t work. Very frustrating!
I’m watching responses to your query, hope you get sorted!

Me too. I have the Charge 2 and an iPhone XR running iOS 13.4.1
I know it was working until 14/5/20. All runs from that date sync with the app, but the app does not show the route on the map as described above.
Also I am dubious the pace shown on the fitbit is correct that I use to monitor my run - or at least, is not as accurate as before.
The app 3.22 (962) says the Charge device is up to date.
One observation is: that I think the app updated (I can now edit the dashboard) and then it stopped working as expected. So I believe it's an update to the fitbit app that has done it.

I, too, was able to make it work before the update.
I did the update late and then I've not been able to get it to work since that time.

I got an iOS update to v13.5.1 and the app now works as expected. Hope everyone else gets a resolution!

I have an Charge 2 connected to an iPhone X running iOS 13.5.1 and have been having the exact same problem. The FitBit app says that it is connected to the phone, and the FitBit appears to be tracking the GPS. The speeds and distances displayed appear to be correct. But when I end the exercise and sync, there is no GPS map. I either shows me out in the middle of the ocean somewhere, or has just a couple points with a tiny part of the exercise route. This has been going on for a couple of months.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the FitBit app from my phone, disconnecting and reconnecting the Charge 2, and restarting the Charge 2. None of these have solved the problem.
This was working fine for over 2 years until just now.

This has been happening to me intermittently over the last few months but then this week it has been every time! I have updated my phone as suggested below but still no joy. I think the app updated because I got the cleaning things up message and I think this has been happening since then. It’s really annoying because I use the map a lot to judge my performance. I have a charge 2 and iPhone 6s +.
update- I have tried starting the gps from my charge 2 or directly in the app on my phone. Still no map! It’s so frustrating!

I have suffered this same map data failure problem only recently after it has worked OK. I’ve also done the resets of IOS and Charge 2 to no avail but I have now got it working and I believe the problem has been introduced by IOS 13 changes to the ‘location permissions’. As I understand it, iOS 13 has added ‘allow once’ and removed ‘always allow’ from the initial alternatives to the user at the beginning of the session. ‘Always allow’ enables the tracking to continue when the Fitbit app is not actively visible on the front screen which is probably the case during a run or cycle ride. To overcome the problem I reset the Location and Privacy settings back to defaults in iOS and as you would expect the Fitbit app then needed to request location permission. I selected ‘allow once’ and after a short while I got another iOS dialogue giving me the option modify my Fitbit selection to ‘always allow’ which I did and after that, the iOS map data was again seen in the Fitbit app.

After I posted, I called fitbit and fitbit told me I didn't have the most recent update and so I did that on my phone, re-connected bluetooth w/ my device and the mapping function worked.
Now, two weeks later, it is spotty again and yesterday and today the GPS function is back to not working. I checked and its not working seems to be timed w/ the most recent update.
I'm so frustrated. I am contemplating an apple watch - not because I need all those bells and whistles but I'm fearful of spending another $100 on fitbit because that would be my third fitbit and each one lasts a year or so and then conks out. Crap.

Hi
have you tried the fix I posted above that I copied from another thread? So far my Fitbit charge 2 and the app have given me maps since I did it. I shall wait anxiously to see if it stops working again. It’s a shame your Fitbit’s don’t seem to last. I had a charge hr which was still working when I upgraded to a charge 2 because I wanted a bigger screen, and I have had both for several years.

I have similar intermittent GPS fault with my Charge 2. Long press on "Run" brings up the little phone icon showing GPS connection then within a fraction of a second the bar appears indicating no GPS . iphone X running iOS 13.5 - Fitbit app set to location "always " . Fitbit app open right in front of me . I tried the usual resets of phone and Fitbit - same dropout of GPS every time . So I gave up and went on the run anyway - only to find that Fitbit found its GPS at about half distance - so I get a map of half the run I did. Incidentally the iOS app keeps on reporting sync failures then a second or so later syncs perfectly. I had the same problem a few weeks ago , it went away and is now back again !
