Hi there, @schirev. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 4.

GPS dropouts can be caused by several things (tall buildings, trees, overcast, etc.). Please make sure to check this article for tips on managing your GPS connection and to keep your Fitbit device up-to-date.

Hope that helps.

Buildings and trees etc could not possibly be the issue as it happens at different spots on the same walking routes.  I can be out in the middle of a lake kayaking with nothing to interfer and it will drop the gps.

I also have an issue when tracking with the app on my iphone.  No problem with the mapping but it will not display the heart rate.  It used to do this when I first got the charge 4 but around March of this year it stopped.  I asked for help at fitbit but they didn't seem to understand the issue.

I can't say I am overly impressed with how the watch works.

I have the phone GPS set to always.  It is strange that there was only one time while I was hiking in Newfoundland that the GPS could not be found and the first walk I took from my home in Central Ontario it lost GPS twice in that same walk and for the next few days after.  It did work for my bike ride yesterday but it is very inconsistent.

It's absolutely ridiculously that Fitbit claims that clouds can cause the GPS to drop. This problem has existed since the very first day I got my Charge 4 and Fitbit absolutely doesn't care.

I thought it might be fixed but verified it still fails consistently after approximately 16 minutes. I was walking on a beach with no trees, no clouds, no buildings - absolutely nothing that could possibly block GPS signals. I tried carrying my phone in my left hand to see if it was a Bluetooth issue but that didn't help either.

The simple fact is that the Charge 4 doesn't work as a tracker. There's no excuse for Fitbit not to fix this issue.
