My charge 4 stops GPS 

tracking during runs.

Condition is forrest with small rolling hills, clear blue sky, 90%+ battery charge, and data just synchronized with phone.

 

Is there anything I can do, other than buying a different device?

Sound like my problems, after 20 min the GPS stops working. Approx. a month ago the GPS was working fine. 

Problem sounds like a software update gone wrong.

The GPS has always disconnected after 15 minutes for me. Only solution I know of is to set the GPS to internal on the tracker but that eats the battery like crazy. You'll get maybe 3 hours max.

It has been happening more frequently to me too. This morning I even ran with my phone and had it in dynamic mode and it still dropped almost instantly.
