Ghost using my Fitbit

What is going on? I bought my Charge 2 in June as a replacement after having an older One which I was very happy with.
I thought I was happy with my new Fitbit. I am currently recovering from major surgery I had on 7 November, my Fitbit is in a drawer and battery completely flat. However, over the last 2 weeks it says it has tracked steps and exercise I haven't taken! I could hardly get out of a chair let alone do any exercise... much as I want to.
How on earth is this possible? Can I trust any of the figures it gives me ever again?
Return as faulty or is there a fix anyone knows about ?
Any help or comments appreciated, thank you

This happened to my old HR. I got my Charge 2 and left the HR on my dresser for weeks. It was dead. Completely. I picked it up one day and it showed 3000 steps. My kids swear our house is haunted- well you can imagine what happened next. I don't know why it happened other than the ghost wore it.  I don't think it is anything to worry about from a faulty perspective. Once you are back on your feet, it will do the good job it did before you had to take a break. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hi @BeverleyM63 welcome to the Community. To be honest, that's very weird.. Is the tracker located in a place that involves any movement? Sometimes the tracker keeps recording steps although it's no longer charged. I also wish you a good recovery!

Thank you for your help @emili Smiley Happy

Hi, and thank you for your good wishes. The Fitbit is in the back of a drawer which I haven't touched. I've noticed that it hasn't been synched since the day before my op.
So far today it's clocked me doing 4857 steps and 54 minutes active.... I wish 🙂

@BeverleyM63 I see you are happy with your Fitbit One. Are you still using it, and is it connected to the account as the Charge 2? If so when the tracker a sync, Fitbit will try and sync up both trackers. This has affect of transferring the step count from the Fitbit One to your Charge 2.

Thanks for the tip, but I only have the Charge 2 attached to my account.

Same thing, been using Fitbit since the beginning. Just got a charge 2 last week and took it off after the wildly inaccuracies - after a day it had been charging, I put it on to sleep, and from 12-3am I somehow logged in over 10,000 steps. By 9 am (when I had slept and was heading off to work), 30,000. WTF? I've never logged 30k steps in my life. Defective. Wanted this version since they reintroduced flights of stairs. But phantom statistics don't help whatsoever.... 😔

This doesn't sound good, have you restarted your tracker?

I found your post because I was googling "ghosts/spirits messing with my fitbit"  I SWEAR this thing has vibrated on me ~ usually when I'm half awake or asleep but there's no alarm or notification, etc set to go off, nothing at all.  Mine is a newer one, just from Mother's Day of 2019...

Maybe it's just a "glitch", maybe I was having a dream, maybe it's a "something else"...
