I registered with a Gmail address, long before Google bought Fitbit.
So I just want to know how to migrate years of data to Google account without losing anything.
Or is there a way to archive my data and start over with Google account?
Ironic thing is, I don't even know if my Charge 4 will last until the deadline to migrate to Google account, which is Feb 2026.

@hyybid Like you, I used Gmail long before Google bought Fitbit. To migrate, tap on the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right of your Fitbit app. The Move account option is at the top of the page with Google's multi-color G. You can't miss it. Just follow the steps. Help article I joined Fitbit in October 2013 and didn't lose one step of data.
There is no way to merge accounts if you start over with a Google account.

Unfortunately, I just went through a lengthy conversation with customer service. It is silly to think that they did not take into consideration that people already have google accounts. Now to keep my data (i have been a member since 2015) I have to create a new Gmail account which is totally counterproductive. I can not merge my two Fitbit accounts. I can certainly add my current device to the Fitbit account already with Gmail but it wont bring any of my years of data over. They did not think this through. That should have been the first thing they thought about!!

@RAD001 I don't understand why Support told you that you need a new Google account, unless your account is a Google Workspace account. Users must have a personal Google account.

When I go to migrate my yahoo account on Fitbit, I get told my Google Account is already connected to Fitbit (though no data there and I don't ever remember setting it up with my gmail) and I can't migrate to it and must chose/create another. If I switch on Fitbit to my empty Google account and delete the account - google never completely deletes it. I waited a day and it still says I have a fitbit account with that gmail account - even though I deleted the account. It's only a decade of information so Google doesn't care, they have access to it still anyway.... just I don't! lol 😞

They told me I could not merge my two accounts. I had an old Fitbit account with Gmail, and I had one with MSN. My MSN one is my current Fitbit account, and I could not merge them into 1 account. I had to create a new GMAIL to get my Fitbit brought over. It would not allow me to with my original Gmail (personal account)
