Hey there @jm02, welcome to the Fitbit Community! Man Very Happy  You can keep the old account and just set up the new Charge 2 without losing any previous data. Here are the steps:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

Let me know if there's something else I can assist you with!

I've removed my Flex and now I want to add my Charge 2. I seem to be having a hard time following the "add a new device" instructions. I got as far as the app for my phone but it didnt take me any farther.

Now what..

Thanks for jumping up here @HappyDoppy and following the suggestions! I'd recommend taking a look at this post and try those steps listed.

If by any chance you got an error message when trying to pair your Charge 2, please provide me with a screen shot of it so I can go from there.

I'll be around!

Was able to switch to the new Fitbit Charge 2 with this answer.

I want to know how I can replace the faulty battery in the old charge 2, so that I can salvage it for someone else to utilize the product.  I wasn't happy about having to purchase a new Fitbit to eliminate charging the battery 2-3 times a day.

Does this work if you are upgrading from a Charge 2 to a Charge 3?

Does the data merge or is it kept separately?

If I give my Charge 2 to my spouse, will my Charge 2 data disappear?

Thank You!
