I will not be using my Charge 3 for some time, and I need to shut it down so the battery is still fresh when I restart it. How do I shut it down?

Hello @RayACT. Nice to see you around!
Thank you very much for the detailed information. At this time, I'd like to let you know that the Charge 3 doesn't have any option to be turned off. For more information, I recommend visiting this help article: How do I turn off my Fitbit device?
In this case, you will need to let the battery drain and re-charge it once you're able to use your Charge 3 again.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I searched the Fitbit web site and found the article you referenced but it does not mention the Charge 3.
I have deleted all personal data from the device and charged it overnight to make sure it is fully charged to 100% then put it into sleep mode to minimize the current draw on the battery. I hope the battery is not damaged by being run down to flat and that it restarts when I need it. I understand it is a lithium battery so it should be ok.

Yes, as mentioned on the post above, Fitbit Charge 3 doesn't have an option to be turned off. In regards with the steps you'll follow, I'd like to let you know that if you experience any inconvenience with the battery of your Charge 3 once you're able to wear it again, I'd recommend visiting this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
