How do I use/sync Strava?

I am using a Charge 3. I have Strava on an Apple iPhone 7. What is the best way to sync the two devices? Sometimes my runs record on Strava, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes Fitbit will show a map of my route, sometimes it doesn’t. I find this really frustrating.

Thanks for the details provided, I'll be glad to help you to properly sync your Strava app to the Fitbit account. 

Strava is primarily used to track cycling and running exercises. Strava exercises that are synced with Fitbit are labeled as a manually logged activity.
