@SunsetRunner your community name is easy as it shows on your posts. If I then click on your name it takes me to your community profile and on there is a link to "go to fitbit.com profile" where it shows your main username for fitbit.
Best AnswerThanks for the reply, my fitbit.Com display name was recently different to my username, (which I changed yesterday to Lalabrucey NZ), so could I tell in this case? Would my username be the Community name and the fitbit.Com display name is just that - display? So for example if you saw a fitbit.Com username eg '<firstname> <last initial>' how would you find the username from this info? Mine was 'Lana J' but my username is 'lalabrucey', does this make sense? I am asking because when people post to the groups, the fitbit.Com name appears but you can't seem to find this as a username in find friends when searching.

I have to admit, the more I look into this, the more I am getting confused.
Looking at your details, you show to me as "lalabrucey" here in the community and as "Lalabrucey N" in your fitbit.com profile (where I assume the "N" is the initial of the second part of your name of "NZ")
There is an option to send you a friend request when I look at your "Lalabrucey N" profile
I don't use the groups within the app but understand they are separate from the community so must be based around our fitbit.com profile. Can you not click on the name in the group to get to their profile?
I'm really hoping someone who understands how this all works will join the thread!

Your User name in the groups would be what is in your Profile Lalabrucey N
You need to sign up to post here and you chose the same name minus the N.
If you want them to be the same then edit your name on your profile page to take out the N
https://www.fitbit.com/user/3KMKVV
Once there click on the gear and going to settings and you will see it at the very top.

Thanks but the problem with that is you can't delete the N, the last name fields is mandatory and won't allow a blank entry

This took me way too long to figure out. I don’t know about the website, but in the app, go to your profile, then personal, then click your display name. It will show both your display name and your username and allow you to edit them.
I wondered if there was a difference between iOS and android at first because I didn't have this option in the app so just to be sure I uninstalled the app, rebooted and reinstalled now I have the option you mention which wasn't there before! Yay! Thanks for finally helping me solve this one!!
