My Fitbit Charge 2 has a dimming screen. Spoke to customer service who tried to help but to no avail; it couldn't be fixed. As my watch was given to me in 2017 it is out of warranty and there is nothing they can do, or will do. Is this right, are these devices only good for a couple of years? Have loved my Fitbit but feeling somewhat let down.

Hi, I had a fitbit flex which lasted 2 years before I decided to change models, but it was still working fine. I bought the fitbit charge 3 just over 18 months ago and Im not sure if it is the recent update or what but it has been constantly playing up for the last week (only recording basic sleep, dim screen, lines in the screen and wont hold a charge for longer than a few days). I think they used to last longer when they first came out but it seems the newer versions arent as good as the older models. I agree that they should certainly last longer than 2-3 years!!!

My Charge 3 lasted 3 and 1/2 months.

Thanks. My screen is now completely black. The watch is still working but I can't read anything. I do think they should last longer.

They last about 13 months, just about when your warranty runs out.

My Charge 2, purchased in 2017, is in good shape! I've been through a few bands but the screen works and it charges. But, the joke is that fitbit pushed an update so it won't pair with my previously compatible device (owned by the same company now), and it hasn't synced since September 2020! 🙃 https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Charge-Trackers/Charge-2-Won-t-Sync-Can-t-Add-back-to-account/... No signs of anybody fixing it. Good times.
