How to stop Charge 4 vibrating?

Had one of these a few years ago and it broke and I never bothered replacing it until now. Man, has it gone downhill.

My main issue is with the vibrating, which is incessant, even tho I have it set to no notifications and do not disturb. I've spent WAY too much time trying to figure out how to stop it this week. Downloaded and read the manual, looked through some Reddit forums, looked through this community (no hits for vibrating or variations thereof - really?!) and eventually clicked on customer support.

Was messaging online and asked if the other end was a human. Yes, 'Scott' claimed. Out of curiosity I asked who he thought would win the NBA finals this week (Celtics vs Timberwolves). Scott was putting his money on the Lakers. So ...

Scott suggested I charge my watch, and very helpfully explained how to do that. Because my watch isn't charged but still vibrates. It's a new feature I guess. He/it had four or five of these straight-from-the-manual recommendations. When I explained that I'd tried them all, his final response was to contact the seller.

So Fitbit, the company that created the Fitbit Charge 4, can't actually explain how to stop my their product from vibrating. I mean, seriously? I'm not asking for Scotty to solve the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen paradox. I JUST WANT MY FITBIT CHARGE 4 TO STOP VIBRATING. Is that really beyond this absolutely garbage company?

I'm close to putting this all down to experience and switching to Garmin. Been reading some good things about them online. And at least this way I wouldn't have to deal with the website which suggests EVERY SINGLE TIME I OPEN THE BROWSER that I install the app. I have to dismiss that link, and click on four more just to get to the Dashboard. Two years ago it would just open.

Why do Google have to trash things that worked perfectly fine? It's like Picasa all over again.

😞

No answer, here or anywhere else. I've set this piece of garbage watch to Do Not Disturb, I've switched off all notifications on my phone and on the dashboard on my computer, and still it vibrates.

All the while, the hoops that Google make you jump through! Are they actively trying to get their customers to hate them?

And of course - OF COURSE - they don't actually have customer service, they just farm out their endless problems to their customers who for some inexplicable reason, serve as free customer service reps for this absolutely useless, infuriating company.

And when no-one answers, as in this instance, well who cares: the idiot has already bought the watch. Not our problem!

I really do loathe Google.

I've spent four days having this piece of junk vibrating away on my wrist, but I've also spent those four days researching alternatives. The Garmin Vivomove Trend looks interesting, as does the Xiaomi watch s1 pro  and a few of the Withings line.

So I guess I should be thanking Google/Fitbit for their general uselessness, as it's given me the spur to upgrade to a decent watch and leave their awful 'brand' behind.
