I have just bought a Huawei P20 and when trying to setup the Notifications and sending a test notification it states that the "Notification service not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker."
This does actually send the test notification, sometimes up to 20 seconds late but it always sends.
I have rebooted my phone a lot of times and it still comes up with the error.
When receiving calls it rarely notifies me of this but does and since having it, has only notified me of 1 text.
I have tried checking the compatibility list but it doesn't even show my device, not even the P10 which is about a year old.
Can anyone tell me if it works with the phone or there is a fix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @HeydyF I followed your list but this didn't resolve the issues I was facing.
I have since figured this out myself.
On this particular phone, it manages the battery and apps running in the background itself, the phone kept stopping the app from running in the background to save battery and thus didn't allow it to send notifications as it wasn't running.
To rectify this just follow the below process and turn this to manual.
Go to Settings > Battery > App Launch > Fitbit
Turn the Manage Automatically option off to Manage Manually and ensure "Auto-Launch", "Secondary Launch" and "Run in Background" are all ticked and then it should allow it to send notifications to the device.
This may be a similar issue for Huawei Phones running their EMUI software.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hey @leeallwood, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! As you mentioned, the Huawei P20 isn't on the list of compatible devices, which means that even if you were able to pair your Charge 2 with it, that doesn't mean that it will always sync and the notifications are gonna work. And if they do it once in a while, is because our team still testing on this phone model. However, there are a few troubleshooting that I'd like you to try, just keep in mind that I can't guarantee that it'll work. So please review this post to fix the not getting notifications issue, and review this article for syncing issues.
Let me know how it goes!

Please can you advise when the P20 pro is likely to sync with the charge 2? Is this in development?
Thanks, Caroline

Hey guys! @Csumnall, @Julie88, @Chile and @angadgyani1, thanks for posting and for taking the time to try some tips to make your Huawei P20 work with your Charge 2. As I've been mentioning, I can't guarantee that it'll work or not, because as this hasn't been released as a compatible device, if you were able to set up your tracker with it, you may have experience some issues, either with syncing, notifications or GPS.
I will appreciate you patience into this matter, 'cause trust me, our team is working in order to add more devices to be compatible with Fitbit products, but takes a little bit specially with those that were recently launched.
Please stay tune guys!

Hey @Cheena33, let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit forums! I appreciate you have taken the time to try the tips that @leeallwood posted above.
I can't guarantee that your Charge 2 will work with your Huawei P20, since it isn't a compatible device, however you can try to follow the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know if that works!
I'll be around!

Hey @generacionx, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! I don't have information about the release of this phone model, the Huawei P20, to be full compatible with Fitbit devices, so in the meantime, I can only suggest you to be patient while our team is working on this. They are always trying to expand the compatible devices list.
I will appreciate your understanding into this matter!

Hey @Tarpit, welcome to the Fitbit forums! Oh! Well, this phone model, the Redmi Note 4, is not a compatible device, so I'm afraid that even if you were able to complete the set up and it syncs, not all of the features will work as if you were using a compatible device. Like in this case, the notifications aren't working fine. Anyways, I suggest you to try the troubleshooting in this help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone
