Improve sync between phone and Charge 3

Really annoyed that the phone and charge 3 do not commu icate to the extent that if I take both out for a walk, and use GPS to get an accurate reading of distance travelled, that the watch will also record its own distance, so I get two readings recorded instead of one. Seems stupid to set up an app and have a device which fails to communicate to the extent it cant recognise I'm doing one walk, not two at the same time, nor maybe use the phone for distance and charge three for everything else, heart rate, steps etc. If I'd have known it wasn't all this smart, there's no way I would have bought this device. I've been told the solution is to take the phone out alone. I could do that anyway using google, I don't need to spend £100 on a fancy watch tracker to have to leave it at home! Waste of money

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Samantha888.

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Charge 3 doesn't communicate to your cellphone. Thank you for your feedback.

Please check out if your phone is part of the list of supported devices. If it isn't, you might still be able to sync and receive notifications but on these cases we are not able to guarantee that everything will work as intended.

In any case, please follow our troubleshooting steps on this article to resolve issues with GPS. In addition, you can perform a restart to your Tracker by following these steps.

I moved your post to this board since this might be a malfunction.

If you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact us back at any time.

As it turns out from your information, my new Galaxy S10 Note is not
compatible with the Charge 3!

This should have been made clearer by the retailer - John Lewis.

Why didn't John Lewis have this information, as their description makes it
sound pretty much like there will be no issues. Just read their description
of the Charge 3 on their website.

I want to know who gave John Lewis this information - did John Lewis make
this up? Or did this information come from Fitbit Why wasn't it made clear
that the Charge 3 isn't all singing all dancing with every Android device
that has Bluetooth?

I don't want to pay £100 for a bloody app when I could use Google for free
to track the distance walked!!

I would like to return this device as I feel this has been missold to me. I
will be complaining to John Lewis, but feel you are actually responsible
for misselling this device, since John Lewis are not the manufacturers and
as such could not actually know the issues the device has.

What I want is a device that I can accurately use to track any distance
walked using GPS and that I can take swimming, and that will communicate to
my phone with NO issues! I will be upgrading to the Galxy Note 10 5G this
year, so would like to find there are no issues with that either.

Since the issue is clearly NOT a device fault, you should be honest and
move my post back to the relevant place on the community board.

Yours faithfully

How do I raise a proper complaint and get answers to my complaint without violating 'rules' of this community, when I am invited 'to reply' and do so (ie - reply) because you haven't clearly addressed my points? It really is terribly frustrating

Also, I am unable to view any photos you send, as they are so small. My Galaxy Note 10 won't let me enlarge them, and most of this site for some reason does not fit properly on my phones screen, particularly the help articles.

The edge is always cut off, removing parts of words, and I cannot fix this by changing the view to landscape or pinching the screen to move or the image - which is static, nor make smaller - as the image is static.
