My Fitbit turned off today despite being charged. When I go to the App it is not syncing because it says it is “looking” for the device but it hasn’t found it in hours. When I plug it in to charge it vibrates continuously until I unplug it and the screen stays blank the entire time. When it was plugged into the charger I tried holding the button down for 8 seconds and then also for 15 seconds as that is what I read helped others but I had no luck. I think it’s officially dead?

If it doesn't help try a Long Restart
Plug the device into the charging cable. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds. Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen. Remove the device from the charging cable. Plug the device into the charging cable again. The smiley face icon appears on the screen.
