I log my fitbit sleep data to correlate against my other lifestyle variables.

My Charge2 is nearly defunct.

Will all other fitbits have the same sleep algorithm?

The algorithm is in the App, not he watch so, yes, they all use the same one.

But surely, it is the watch that is recording the sleep variations in the night?

The watch records the base data but sends it to the App upon syncing in the morning for analysis.
