After I had Charge 2 for a day or so, something turned up in the account-settings of the Fitbit app:
It wasn't initially there after I paired my app with the Charge 2.
See the image:
B.t.w. the texts in my app are (at least partly
) in Dutch.
"Apparaten" = devices
So, I understand the first entry, saying:
Charge 2
Synced vandaag, 10:24 ("vandaag" = today)
Battery Medium
But what is this second one:
MobileTrack
Linked to another device
This is the one that showed up after some time and wasn't initially there.
What other device might this be??????
The menu (three dots to the right) only says "Unpair". Should I do that??????????

The second entry, mobile track, is the option to use a phone to tracjk your steps instead of a Fitbit tracker.
Do you have a second Fitbit account it looks as if you have setup your phone to track your steps with a second Fitbit account.
My account has the same mobile track with the same message.. I have two Fitbit accounts. My phone is being used to track steps on the second account.

Thank you Rich_laue for looking into this. Much appreciated.
I do not have a second Fitbit account. Al least not that I'm aware of.
From the article (your link) I understand that a second account is not necessary for this.
As far as I can judge I do not need my Fitbit app to track without my Charge 2.
So I think it is save to 'unpair' this second entry. Agree?
(I probably got it by accident when I was playing around with settings.)

I just unpaired the second entry called "MobileTrack Linked to another device".
Now I'm trying to get it back, just because I want to understand how things work.
But getting MobileTrack back just doesn't work.
Here is the help artcle about MobileTrack and it sais:
"How do I get MobileTrack?
To get started, download the Fitbit app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Windows Store, and tap Join Fitbit. When asked which tracker you're setting up, choose "No Fitbit Yet?" and follow the MobileTrack instructions.
If you already have a Fitbit account, log into the app and tap or click the Account icon ( ). Choose the option for setting up a new device and follow the MobileTrack instructions.
"
But ... after choosing the option for setting up a new device, there is nothing at all about MobileTrack, just a list of all the Fitbit devices. ??????
The more I'm trying to find my way through the help articles, the more I seem to miss. Very, very confusing. (not to mention the manual )

I have had my Charge 2 since early February and have the app downloaded to both my Samsung Galaxy S7 and my iPad. The tracker syncs to my phone. Yesterday I noticed "MobileTrack" has been added as a device to my account and am not quite sure how it got there, unless it got added as part of the update to Version 2.49 on my iPad that came through yesterday (the prior version on my iPad was 2.48). I understand what it does, based on the information I found here - https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1875. I'm not sure it's something I'll use, but I assume I can just leave it there.

I still can't unpair but. If you click add exercise on fitbit and start a run it adds the mobiletrack back. It counted my run but still didn't add to my steps in challenges
