My Charge 3 is not working properly

Starting 10/14/2020, my Active Minutes tracking has been inaccurately high. It seems like it's tracking around 10 active minutes every hour for most of my waking hours, even though I've been pretty sedentary working at a desk. Wednesday thru today my Active Minutes have been: 234, 122, 377 and 165.

I also only recently noticed that my Charge 3 stopped tracking my heart rate (or at least it has yet to sync with the app) on Wednesday thru Friday. Though today it had my heart rate around 100-160 for over 4 hours in the middle of the day which was not accurate at all.

I believe there's something wrong with the heart rate monitoring that's also causing the issue with the abnormally high and inaccurate Active Minutes.

Earlier in the week I was also experiencing the constant screen turning on and glitching between the normal wake screen and the DND/settings screen as well as vibrating each time it did this. I was able to successfully reset, but it continued a couple more days. I haven't been experiencing that issue coinciding with the heart rate and active minutes issues though.

Like a lot of other users, I'm also experiencing the dead pixels/horizontal lines on the screen. Mine are occurring in the top third of the screen. My Charge 3 also isn't vibrating/receiving notifications.

In general it seems like there's some kind of bug or glitch impacting Charge 3s in general. My firmware version is 28.20001.88.11 and my app is the most up to date version, release 10/13/2020 based on the Google app store. I've let the battery run out for now since I wasn't having luck with wearing it or attempting to reset.

Is there a planned update or something that will help with all of these issues?

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community @uniquelyc.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Charge 3. Thank you for the information provided and for trying to resolve the issue before contacting us.

At the moment, there is no information about a planned update for your Tracker but once any update be available it will be communicated as soon as possible.

There are some troubleshooting steps we can provide to try to resolve some of the issues you mentioned, however I would like to see if we can remove the lines on your Charge 3's screen. In addition to regular restart please perform a long restart by following the instructions below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again
