New charge 4 gps not working

Charge 4 arrived yesterday. Bought for gps on walks. Pressed exercise, walk , up swipe to gps on. Pressed start and left the house. Hour and a half later returned. Exercise recorded as walk but no gps map produced. Why? What did i do wrong?

After you setup your new Charge 4, did you receive the banner on the Fitbit app to update the Firmware?

If not your Charge 4 might still have the previous firmware version and need to be updated. 

In that case, please use the Charge 4 as usual and sync it at least 1-2 a day. 

Soon you'll be notified the the update is ready for you in the app.

Follow then the steps here: How do I update my Fitbit device?

Still not working. Gps set as fitbit. Walk, gps on and start. Finish at end. Nothing recorded.

I have now found out how to fix it. All i was doing wrong was assuming that pressing start would make it start. I didn't realise i had to press on the arrow aswell. Not sure quite why you need a 2nd button but that's what i needed to do.

Why are there no idiots guides showing how to do theses things? Or are there and i haven't found it yet?
