Not tracking distance correctly

Recently Fitbit started an autodetect feature for exercise but since then it isn't working to track the distance of my bike rides even when I do it manually. This morning I did 12 miles round trip approximately...I verified with Google...the Fitbit says I went less than 5 total. However the map shows my route.

My tracker consistantly unreports my mileage.  I am in a walking group.  Everyone wears a tracker.  Everyone else's trackers are within a few tenths of a mile to each other.  Mine is usually about 10% less.
