Not tracking steps

I have always thought that my charge 2 does not count my steps correctly. The last couple of days I have compared with 2 of my friends and on both occasions they have done almost double when we have been walking round the same place.

We have compared our pace length and they are similar.

Also would pushing a pram make a difference?

Any ideas what it could be?

Pushing a pram might make a difference, giving lower step total.  When the Fitbit hand is held rather than swinging normally as when walking, steps might not get detected.  But they also might get detected, I suppose depending on pram and walking style affecting how much your wrist moves with each step.

If you put the tracker in you pocket or clip to your clothing, you will probably get good step count, but at the expense of heart rate data during that time.

The same issue is often seen holding hand rail on treadmill or pushing shopping cart.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
