Notification jumping between on and off.

This started three days ago. While working, my Charge 2 started to vibrate. When I looked at my fitbit, the notification was turning on and turning off. I tried to press my button and nothing happen. It kept doing this until the battery wore down. I think it kept functioning my steps and heart rate, etc. until the battery died. I charged it that night, and it seemed to work fine the next day, but after that day the notifications went off and on again.

I did discover that when I hold the button for about 5 seconds, the time and other information do show, but when I release the button, it goes back to notifications. It seems that I cannot do a master reset on the device. Any other suggestions to resolve this?

I think this is a problem with the button. Normally, when you press and hold the button on the Charge 2 it toggles notifications on and off so it sounds like the button is stuck. Pressing the button seems to be temporarily fixing it but it's clearly not right.

Try manipulating the button in case there's something causing it to stick - perhaps use an old toothbrush or a can of compressed air. If it can't be released then it's probably best to contact customer support. They can check your warranty details and advise on your options: contact.fitbit.com

Update:

I ended up buying a new Fitbit Charge 3. I was able to set it up and continue my data on my progress with a couple of days of not being able to log anything into the system. I really liked my Charge 2 and it worked well until that unfortunate incident, but with the Charge 3, I can continue to enjoy all the benefits I had before and adapting to the different changes that have taken place. Thanks Steve for your suggestions. And now to keep getting fit.
