My Charge 2 Fitbit is showing that I have a text or call, but is not showing the message or the caller ID. Even if the number is in my contacts, it says unknown number. The message only says message received. How can I update this?

I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post, I'm sorry to know that you're experiencing such difficulties with the notifications feature on your Charge 2. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check the information that's specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes. Also, please let me know which mobile device you're currently using so I can investigate further this situation.
