Random distance measuring problem

I have a Charge 2, and for some time (certainly the last year) it's been randomly undermeasuring distances when using GPS tracking, typically 0.1-0.2 miles per mile walked. I noticed because walks that had been clocking in at 5-6 miles were now measured at 4-4.5 miles. Not every walk, but frequently enough to lose me some 150 miles over the last year certainly.

Most recently, for example, last Friday (3rd April) I went for a walk that was measured at 3.95 miles and 9,701 steps over 89 minutes. I did exactly the same walk the following Monday, and it was measured at 3.32 miles and 9,638 steps over 88 minutes.

I've tried the various fixes suggested for Bluetooth resetting and so on to no avail. Is there anything I can do to solve this, or is this another one of those bugs Fitbit won't fix?

@Skinnski It's nice to have you on board! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your GPS distance calculation and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Let's try refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Yes, have done all of that at least 5 or 6 times over the last 6 months. Care to suggest something off the standard script that might actually work?
