I have a Fitbit Charge 2 bought in February 2017. It's worked fine until last week when it suddenly died. I thought at first it was the battery, recharged it and it came back. Then, within 36 hours and the battery still reading 70% it just died. I recharged it but it wouldn't come on at first. After playing around a bit it came back on at 100% and seemed just fine. Another 2 days and it died. This time charging it didn't help. I left it on a side table for several hours and when I picked it up it was working. I plugged it into the charger and rebooted it. After a few hours it died again. It will still sync to the app while I can't see a thing on the screen, and the battery seems to have a good charge.
What could be causing this?

It is 3 years old and I believe the battery is just not up to the task anymore. Try a Restart and do it several times if necessary and see if that helps..

If it's like mine, it is dying a slow death.
I spent over an hour in chat a couple of weeks ago only to have a Fitbit rep copy and paste instructions on how to reset the Fitbit. Of course that didn't help and I had already tried that before I got in chat. I followed the instructions while in chat and it didn't work. She said she would submit a trouble ticket. I haven't heard a word from Fitbit. There is no real support after the warranty expires. They're not going to try to help you, only copy and paste instructions on how to reset the Fitbit.
I've ordered a Mi 4 band. I'm done with Fitbit.
