Spinning or Workout???

Hi all!

When using a stationary bike, would it be best to select Spin or Workout as the exercise option? And what difference would it make at all?

I made the mistake of selecting bike when I was at the gym today, not realizing it was specific to an actual bike lol

Thank you!

I have no experience with stationary bike, but I would experiment with both (record the same-length activity performed at the same intensity) and compare results. You could also let your Charge 2 autodetect the activity. I haven’t tried that either, but I know my Surge tries to autodetect activity when it senses the same activity being performed for 10-15 minutes or longer. I suspect the Charge 2 would do the same.

@omgitssahar I would say that 'Spinning' is the more appropriate choice if you are just using the stationary bike as your workout.

If your stationary bike ride is a part of some kind of HIIT training where you are switching from the bike to something else all in the same workout, I'd say that 'Workout' would be more appropriate.

I had the Charge HR for about 1.5 years and I could record my stationary bike workout by pressing the button on the side to start the workout and then again to stop the workout.  During the workout it would record my heart rate and calories burned.  I just replaced my Charge HR with the Charge 2 (thinking this was an upgrade) but now don't seem to have the workout stopwatch feature?  Am I missing something?  I regularly use a stationary bike for my workouts.  Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

But if you choose workout will the watch be able to determine when you are spinning if you aren't moving your arms?
