My Charge 4 is not recording my steps when I'm pushing a pram, pushchair or shopping cart where I have both hands on the handle, it only seems to count when my Fitbit wearing wrist is moving!

I'm afraid that's quite normal. It works by detecting movement of the tracker i.e. your wrist and if it's not moving as it does when walking/running then it won't track steps normally.

That is why I bought a strap and wear it on my ankle.  Also keeps me from damaging it as I am klutzy and has my idiot coworkers convinced I am on a tether 🙄   I am perfectly happy wearing it there and it works.

@shirlsaw63 how are you finding the calorie calculation wearing it on your ankle? Years ago when I experimented with doing that I found that the calorie count went up if compared with wearing it on my wrist - I assumed it was something to do with increased movement of the tracker. Would be interested to know if it's better these days.

I actually don't pay attention to that - sorry.  I am tracking calories in Noom and that adjusts there based on the steps it receives from FitBit.

Ah, that makes sense. I guess that the lack of heart rate monitoring is not a problem for you either.

Actually it still does heart rate and it seems accurate.  I keep it on inside of ankle where I can feel the pulse.

That's good to know. Thank you.
