I've repalced two of my workouts per week with swimming. But as my FitBit is not wateerproof I don't wear it and my step count (versus friends) has dropped. I've added these sessions manually, is there a way to record steps for these sessions?

Not really. The thing is that you don't take steps when swimming. The challenges are for steps and not activity.
I know that a lot of people like to see some step credit when they do activities such as swimming but it just isn't designed that way.
If it were possible to convert activities to steps then what would happen to long distance cyclists? They would win challenges with no problem but that would be considered unfair.

I agree, I am currently competing in the Global Corporate Challenge and the GCC recognise swimming and calculates steps at 4750 per 1000m of swimming which is great as i swim 3 to 4 times for an hour each week. Please can Fitbit allow this?

My fitbit (charge 3) is waterproof and I used to get credit for swims in steps although the conversion was unclear. As of this week I no longer have any more steps when I get out of the pool than when I got in. This is VERY disconcerting. I was getting around 3200 steps for 2000 meters of swimming and I was comfortable with that, 4750/1000 would be bonus.
Best AnswerTwo of the people in my water aerobics class have a charge three and they say The steps account automatically. I have tried everything with my charge three and I’m not able to make the steps count when doing water aerobics. Help!
