Steps on Charge 3 and app are different

I had a Charge 2 but my friend gave me her Charge 3 as she got a Versa. I updated everything, disconnected it numerous times, cleared everything, synced manually and the steps are still different on the watch to the app, its really annoying. Any suggestions?
