I bought a 2nd hand ChargeHR, with a small strap, and needed to change it to a large strap. It was a nightmare to change, and the casing really needed prying out. Since then, the 2 side bits, where the button is mounted on the one side, won't sit flush and tuck into the face. It means the button is a pain to get it to work.
Any suggestions, or am I going to have to send it off?

Hi @RuthieG - I hated to change the band on my Charge HR and was very happy when they changed the band attachment style to something much easier. Afraid I have no help to offer except to possibly check out the newer, improved Fitbit devices. My favorite older devices is the Alta HR. The bands are a snap to remove and replace and third party sellers, such as Amazon sell many, low cost but good quality bands. I have them to match all my outfits. The Versa is my favorite device but still use my Alta HR quite a bit.

The Charge HR band being glued on, was not designed to have a replaceable band. However several people on Amazon do sell repair kits.
